(Dubbed) Horror Game? I Thought It Was a Dating Sim!

Trapped in a deadly horror game, I am forced by a system to romance the monsters! While others flee for their lives, I must read poems to ghosts and dance with skeletons. The System warns: Seduce the abyss or be erased. When romantic tropes meet spine-chilling terror... can I fake love to save my life?

Ep Review

Bully Gets Called Out Immediately

I cannot stand the guy in the ripped denim jacket. He acts like he owns the place, trying to pair up with the girls and leaving the quiet guy in the white hoodie stranded. The dynamic shifts so fast when the system intervenes. It is hilarious that the reward for this dangerous mission is pheromone perfume. Who thought that was a good idea for a horror setting? The animation style in (Dubbed) Horror Game? I Thought It Was a Dating Sim! really captures the despair of being left alone in a creepy hospital corridor at night.

System Tasks Are Wildly Inappropriate

Just when the protagonist thinks he is doomed, a system window appears with the most awkward mission ever. Asking the Head Nurse to share a room is basically asking for a slap in the face, yet the reward is some magical perfume. The contrast between the dark, bloody atmosphere and this bizarre dating-sim mechanic is jarring but addictive. I love how the protagonist realizes he is being excluded right at the start. The pacing in (Dubbed) Horror Game? I Thought It Was a Dating Sim! keeps you guessing what rule will kill them next.

Room 13 Is A Death Trap

The visual storytelling here is top tier. You can see the fear in everyone's eyes as they realize there are not enough rooms. The bully tries to take charge, but the numbers do not add up, leaving the MC isolated. That moment when the nurse says not having a room is a violation gave me chills. It is a death sentence. The chibi animation of the protagonist getting kicked for being a pervert was a funny break in the tension. (Dubbed) Horror Game? I Thought It Was a Dating Sim! balances horror and comedy perfectly.

Protagonist Needs A Miracle

Being excluded from the group in a death game is the worst possible start. The guy in the white hoodie has zero allies, and the bully is actively mocking him. But that system prompt changes everything. Instead of fighting monsters, he has to navigate social awkwardness with a terrifying nurse. The stakes feel so high because one wrong move means death. I am hooked on seeing how he survives this night. The dubbing in (Dubbed) Horror Game? I Thought It Was a Dating Sim! adds so much emotion to his desperation.

The Nurse Is The Real Boss

The tension in this hallway is insane! Everyone is panicking about the room shortage, but the Head Nurse just stands there coldly enforcing the rules. It feels like she knows exactly what is going to happen to the ones left out. The way the protagonist gets excluded by the bully in the denim jacket sets up such a classic underdog story. Watching (Dubbed) Horror Game? I Thought It Was a Dating Sim! on netshort had me screaming at the screen when that weird system task popped up. Asking a nurse to share a room? That is social suicide!
