Ep Review

Silent Tension at Dinner

I love how Immortal Reborn As City's King! builds suspense without much dialogue. The man in the leather coat is clearly plotting something dangerous, peeking through the wooden grid with that tube. Meanwhile, the dining scene feels so peaceful yet eerie because we know something is up. The older men reading books add to the mysterious vibe of the whole setting.

Failed Assassin Vibes

The character in the black leather jacket thinks he is so cool leaning against the wall, but his failed attempt to shoot the dart makes him look ridiculous. In Immortal Reborn As City's King!, the way he reacts when his plan goes wrong shows he is not as professional as he claims. The facial expressions of the eater who senses something is off are priceless too.

Atmospheric Storytelling

The moon shot at the beginning sets a perfect mood for Immortal Reborn As City's King!. It transitions so well into the indoor scene where danger lurks behind the traditional wooden windows. The contrast between the modern leather outfit of the attacker and the traditional clothes of the people inside highlights the clash of worlds. It is a visually striking short drama.

Comedy in Disguise

You have to appreciate the humor in Immortal Reborn As City's King! when the assassin blows into the tube and nothing happens. He looks so confused and frustrated while the target just keeps eating rice. It is like a cat and mouse game where the mouse does not even know it is being hunted. The pacing is perfect for a quick laugh and some suspense.

The Blowgun Backfire

This scene from Immortal Reborn As City's King! is pure comedy gold. The assassin tries to be stealthy with a blowgun through the window lattice, but his own arrogance gets the better of him. Watching him struggle while the guy in white just casually eats his meal creates such a funny contrast. The tension of the assassination attempt versus the calmness of the target is hilarious.
